I’m so excited to share our girls’ getaway to the Fairmont Dallas this past weekend with y’all! My girlfriends Whitney, Jaclyn and I had a wonderful experience and I am confident if you were to stay there, you would too!
The day before our stay our concierge, Phillip Powell, texted me to make a note of our ETA and to see if he could assist with anything else before we arrived. He then emailed us an itinerary and a BUNCH of suggestions of activities to do and restaurants to eat at in the downtown Dallas area. He literally attached an “Uptown Dining and Entertainment Guide” as well as a list of dining options within walking distance of the Fairmont! I will share some of the staples with you at the bottom of this post in the case that you’ve never been to Dallas and need recommendations!
The first night we arrived, we had reservations at the Pyramid Restaurant within the Fairmont. It was so nice to unwind with the girls and a glass of wine after a long work week and several weeks of exhausting travel. Jaclyn, Whitney, and I shared a cheese/charcuterie plate, the mashed potatoes, and the roasted cauliflower, and then we each had entrees as well! I tried the NY strip, Whitney had the Arctic Char, and Jac had Hand Rolled Capunti. YUM!
Friday also happened to be Whitney’s big brother’s birthday, so we went out to karaoke to celebrate with him! Which resulted in a very late start to our Saturday haha. We even missed brunch! #rookiemistake. We ended up spending most of our Saturday shooting the hotel, campaigns, NYE looks, etc. However, the weather just didn’t hold out! So we had cocktails at the Pyramind Bar (try the Lavender Collins.. SO GOOD!) and watched Christmas movies and the Devil Wears Prada in our big king bed all night.
Sunday morning we had a delicious breakfast at the Pyramid Restaurant (Whitney and Jaclyn had avocado toast with turkey bacon and I had the eggs benedict!). It turns out that they have various freshly squeezed juices for breakfast which is great because I’m not much of an orange juice person! I had the pear, ginger, carrot one!
The Fairmont Dallas is walking distance from Klyde Warren, Forty Five Ten, the Fashion Industry Gallery, and many other local hot spots. We were lucky to stay in a beautiful suite on the 14th floor overlooking a lot of them. We had a king bed and full bathroom in one room, a living room with dining area, and then an adjoining double room with another full bathroom as well.
If you really want the star treatment, I suggest you book a room on the 18th floor, which is where the “Gold Lounge” is. They have the best views of the skyline, a TV lounge, and lots of food and beverages up there that are only available for these gold level guests. It was impeccably decorated, I included a few photos above to show y’all! I was just super impressed by all the staff: from bellhops to valets, to Phillip our concierge (he was seriously my fave!), to the bartender and our waiters, we truly got the gold star treatment. I know they treat each of their guests that way which is what makes the Fairmont Dallas such a staple in our beautiful city.
If you’ve never been to Dallas, here are 5 restaurant staples and 5 bar staples to try while you’re in town! They’re all short distances or walkable from the Fairmont Dallas. P.S. the Fairmont has a car that can drive you within a one mile radius of the hotel at certain times as well!
- Nick and Sam’s Steakhouse (I went here for my 25th birdthday!)
- Moxie’s (great food and then turns into a fun night scene! Also it’s attached to the Crescent which is my favorite structure in Dallas.)
- Saint Ann’s (Insta-worthy patio!)
- Stirr (great rooftop!)
- The Rustic (Southern food, popsicle in your margaritas, great patio, live music!)
- Standard Pour (the LikeToKnow.it He(art) wall is on the side of this if you want a cute photo-op!)
- Happiest Hour (another spectacular rooftop and my favorite frosé in Dallas!)
- Black Friar Pub (for some reason the Black Friar reminds me of a scene out of Harry Potter.. love!)
- Bottled Blonde (the new hot spot in Dallas… ask anyone!)
- Eberhard (a Knox Henderson staple! Love their chandeliers and music!)
Lastly, I wanted to share a few NYE looks with y’all! Whitney, Jaclyn, and I each have very different styles and body types so I hope you are inspired by something you see. All outfit details are below!
