As y’all know, I am flying to Italy on Wednesday for 3 weeks!! I can’t wait to share this experience with you in real time via Instastories, as well as on the blog later via travel diaries! I’ve had some questions about what to expect while I’m gone, so I thought I’d outline that for y’all today (as well as share some summer outfit inspo!).
I’m going to try to pre-write most of my blog posts this week so that they will be ready to go on Mondays and Wednesdays. My biggest fear is that the wi-fi won’t be strong in the Airbnbs/ the Homeaways that we are staying in.. but I will deal with that as it comes. I’ve already discussed with my parents some Plan Bs. In addition to the blog, I also have a full time corporate job, and will need to continue executing some of my campaigns while I’m gone. What can I say, a girl’s gotta hustle sometimes.. even on vacation! I’m telling you this so that you’ll be forgiving in the case that a blog post is a day late or if the content is a tad skimpy. I’m going to do my best!
Another important thing to note is that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts this Thursday, July 13th for Nordstrom cardholders. I’ll be traipsing around Rome.. but not without adding an #NSale tab to the blog first! I’m going to add all my top picks there and will be updating them as things go in/out of stock. Don’t have a Nordstrom card? That’s okay! You can get one in person and start shopping right away. In fact I did that myself last year. I’m so grateful for my Norstrom card because I rack up points and get Nordstrom Notes (basically $20 gift cards) periodically.
If you don’t want to open a Nordstrom card, that’s fine too! The Anniversary Sale starts for you on July 21st. A lot of items may be sold out or picked over, but they do restock certain things. (Don’t count on that though!). What always goes first is designer items (denim and handbags) as well as shoes.
While I’m in Italy, I’ll be writing blog posts about different categories from the sale; whether it be denim, coats, sweaters, shoes, home, cosmetics etc. Keep an eye out for a giveaway as well!! Remember that the sale is pre-fall items that are brand new, and that the prices will go back up to full price once the sale is over!
Last year during the sale, I stocked up on a lot of closet staples that I would have hesitated to buy at full price. I bought leather leggings, a leather jacket, sweaters, portofino blouses for work, booties, Spanx, etc. It was also a great time for me to stock up on Christmas gifts. I know, I know.. you might be thinking I’m jumping the gun there.. but some of this stuff literally never goes on sale. Especially in the cosmetics/home departments! I also like to stock up on gifts during the sale for other occasions such as birthdays, etc., this way I always have something on hand.
I know that a lot of you reading this are from Texas where it’s bordering 100 degrees outside on the daily, and thinking about building out a fall wardrobe is the last thing on your mind. But budgeting for the N Sale will save you money down the road in the fall when you really need to be saving for the holidays! I can’t wait to share with y’all my top picks starting Thursday– be sure to shop them on the tab and let me know which are you favorites too!
