Today I’m talking about two ways to style up and style down a classic black romper. You know how when you’re on vacation or at home– you’re out and about during the day but you know you have something a little more formal at night and it’s not practical to go back home/to the hotel to change? Assuming you have a car (or even just a beach bag!), all you have to do is pack a change of shoes, maybe add some jewelry, and a night-time lipstick & clutch and you’ve instantly dressed up your outfit!
My family and I are staying in Manhattan beach but my sister wanted to eat dinner at an amazing sushi restaurant, Sugar Fish (highly recommend), in Santa Monica which is a long drive with traffic! My parents suggested we spend the day in Santa Monica exploring Third Street Promenade (a bunch of shops and street performers) and the pier. However I still wanted to look nice for my sister’s birthday dinner! She only turns 21 once, after all, and we were talking about maybe going out afterwards. All I did was leave my Steve Maddens, and my Jess Lea Boutique clutch containing jewelry, a hair clip, and a lipstick inside the car. Right before dinner I ran to the car, did a quick 5 minute swap, and then met my sisters and mom at Flower Child across the street for some kombucha while waiting for our table at Sugar Fish. EASY PEASY.
So let’s talk about this romper. It’s SO flattering and also comes in teal and coral. PLUS IT’S UNDER $40! I love the frills at the bottom; they’re feminine and add some dimension. I added in a picture of the back so you could see the tie at the top. Pieces like this are so important for a versatile wardrobe because you can wear it with and to literally anything. I could have paired it with plain sandals and ran errands all day, I could have worn stilettos and hit the club, I could have worn cowgirl boots and went to a concert or a tailgate.. you get the picture. The leopard clutch is everything and I’m so glad I snagged it before it sold out! I’m not sure if it will be restocked soon, however, I’m linking more for you here: Designer, Under $20 wristlet, and the most similar to mine.
As a side note, I also linked for y’all above my Harry Potter tanks from our Universal Studios trip on Wednesday. We got lots of compliments on them.. Would you believe me if I told you they’re only $12?? I wear them all the time!! I also feel the need to warn y’all that the creator of Bertie Bott’s Every Flavored Jellybeans has NO CHILL!!!! I’ve already come across dirt, worm, vomit, grass, and other unidentifiable flavors.. hahaha. Proceed with caution if you buy them at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!!
